Earth, Phase 3 Thrones and Dominions, Sub Pop, 1993
Pour ceux à qui les albums trop expérimentaux cassent les pieds, ou que la sophrologie grunge laisse froid le Pentastar in The Style Of Demons, Sub Pop, 1995 de Earth est plus abordable et plus riche en sonorités diverses et variées.

In Phase 3 Thrones and Dominions, Dylan Carlson hurls his persistants guitar slicks, kind of wholesale continuous drone, and proposes a long exploration of saturation. A study on some notes which might seem boring on the first tracks (although Tommy Hansen comes to the second guitar on Harvey and Song 4). But this boredom is a decoy and when Rick Cambern’s battery turns up- as a breath of fresh air -on Site Specific Carnivorous Occurrence (whose guitar solo is a bit of thinking about Indian classical music, performed by blues) we gloat. Then May's twelve minutes of electrical and repetitives wind slicks on Phase 3 : Agni Detonating Over The Tar Desert prepare the travel for Thrones and Dominions : fourteen minutes in space, not far from David Hykes & The Harmonic Choir, à l'écoute des vents célestes (Ocora, Radio France, 1982) and a relaxation session for recovering old metal musicians of woods. An experiment to try with the utmost urgency.
