Dj Logic, Zen Of Logic, ropeadope, 2006

Dj Logic, Zen Of Logic, ropeadope, 2006

On Zen Of Logic, Dj Logic creates his own hip hop mood with jazz, rock and world music. Scott Harding (who works with the Wu Tang Clan) is on the production, he plays guitar, keyboards and machine on a few tracks. Afro Dub comes with Antibalas, funk is here with Medeski, a touch of jazz with Charlie Hunter or a Sun Ra's sample, some rap with Subconscious and Creature. After a strong ouverture and a mix with Charlie Hunter’s guitar and Mister Brown on Wrulitzer all the album runs easily. Two turnatables, a few guests with their instruments... This is the chemistry of Dj Logic. The tracks are full of good ideas. On first listening, maybe the rythmics are recorded too loud and it can sound repetitive, but after few listening this little problem disappears.
