All members of the band come from other group, the first song you proposed sounds like... you came from a long way. Where are you from musicaly ?

Thanks for the compliment! We indeed have been active in the metal scene for some time now. Benny (guitar) and myself (Roel, guitar) played in a band called Prostitute Disfigurement from 2001 untill 2008. After that we had a band called Soulemission with which we released one album. Benny also played live guitar with Shining (SE) and Kevin (drums) is off course known from the French band Benighted.

You play old school death metal, what does it means ?

Our music is based on old school deathmetal. You can hear that in the riffs we use, they are often more thrashy and the song structures which are catchy and to the point. Also Joost (singer) vocal style sounds very old school more like old Hypocrisy and Gorefest to name a few. I think we do also have some newer elements like a modern production and the unbelievable drums from Kevin.

 

We've got a clue with the title of the album "Bedlamite" but what is the album about ?

Lyrically the songs deal with the 19th century Asylum called Bethlem hospital and the inhuman practices that went on there. Bedlamite means "mad" and has it origins in the Bethlem hospital. The nickname of Bethlem was Bedlam hence the term Bedlamite for patient.

Tous les membres du groupe viennent d'autres groupes, la première chanson que vous proposez sonne comme si... vous veniez de loin. D'où venez-vous musicalement parlant ? 

Merci pour le compliment ! Nous sommes en effet actifs sur la scène métal depuis un certain temps déjà. Benny (guitare) et moi (Roel, guitare) avons joué dans un groupe appelé Prostitute Disfigurement de 2001 à 2008. Après cela, nous avons eu un groupe appelé Soulemission avec lequel nous avons sorti un album. Benny a également joué de la guitare en live avec Shining (SE) et Kevin (batterie) est bien sûr connu du groupe français Benighted.

Vous jouez du death metal old school, qu'est-ce que cela signifie ?

Notre musique est basée sur le death metal old school. Tu peux l'entendre dans les riffs que nous utilisons, ils sont souvent plus thrash et les structures des chansons sont accrocheuses et précises. De plus, le style vocal de Joost (chanteur) sonne très old school, plus proche des vieux Hypocrisy et de Gorefest, pour n'en nommer que quelques-uns. Je pense que nous avons aussi des éléments plus récents comme une production moderne et l'incroyable batterie de Kevin.

On a une idée avec le titre de l'album "Bedlamite" mais de quoi parle l'album ?

Au niveau des paroles, les chansons traitent de l'asile du XIXe siècle appelé hôpital de Bethlem et des pratiques inhumaines qui s'y déroulaient. Bedlamite signifie « fou » et trouve son origine dans l'hôpital de Bethlem. Le surnom de Bethlem était Bedlam, d'où le terme Bedlamite pour patient.
